Booking a dog walker
One thing to know for services where the provider cares for the dogs themselves (walkers, home visits, groomers, trainers, boarding, daycare): booking gives that provider access to your household's dog profiles, so they can look after any of your dogs you book in; a note by the book button says so. Field and pool hire never share dog profiles.
- Search tab → Dog walkers → enter your postcode.
- You'll see walkers who cover you, because a round includes your postcode district or because you're within the distance they're willing to travel ("Covers your postcode"). There's no distance box for services that come to you: the walker's coverage decides.
- Open a walker to see their photos, price, and available walks by day. Each walk shows its round and how many spaces are left; one space is one dog, big or small.
- First time with this walker? You book a meet & greet first. A meet & greet is just for your household: once you book it, nobody else can, and you can bring along as many of your dogs as you like (it's charged per dog). Regular walks stay locked until the walker has met your dogs and marked the intro complete, which keeps every dog on the walk safe.
- Tap Book on a slot and tick which of your dogs are coming. Dogs without an in-date vaccination record can't be selected; upload one on the Dogs tab first.
- The price updates per dog (e.g. £15 for one dog, £30 for two). Pay by card as with fields.
- Book it every week (regular walks). On a standard slot you'll see Repeat weekly? Leave it as "Just this one", or pick 2–12 weeks to book the same slot every week in one go. You pay for the whole run together, and any week that's already full or not running is skipped (you only pay for the weeks actually booked). Meet & greets can't repeat; they're a one-off. You can cancel a single week or the whole remaining run later from the Bookings tab.
If a walk is full: join the waitlist
- Full walks show Full with a Join waitlist button instead of Book. Tick which dogs would be coming and join, and you'll see your place in the queue.
- Your place also appears at the top of the Bookings tab, with a Leave waitlist option any time.
- When a space opens up you get an email (and a push notification): the slot is held for you for 24 hours, or until 2 hours before the walk, whichever is sooner. Your Bookings tab shows Book the slot; book and pay as normal.
- If you don't book in time, the space is offered to the next person in the queue. Spaces are always offered strictly in queue order.
